Welcome to Conner Street Elementary

We are located at 445 Conner Street in Hurricane, West Virginia. We have 387 outstanding students in grades pre-K through fifth. Our Principal is Ms. Kristi Barker. We have twenty-two amazing classroom teachers, six fantastic classroom aides, three exceptional custodians, two caring secretaries, and three wonderful cooks. Our school was built in 1966 and a new addition was added in 2013. We are fortunate to be a Leader in Me school. We believe in educating the whole child. We believe that all students can learn and that we can be successful at teaching all students. We welcome parent and community involvement because we believe that together we can achieve more. Please visit our website to learn about the exciting things happening at Conner Street Elementary School!

**Student Led Conferences

Are Coming! **

Our next scheduled date for conferences is on March 21. Instead of our typical parent/teacher conferences, we are trying a new way of doing conferences! These conferences will involve your children. They will be leading the conference to tell and show you how they are doing in school. We will have several student led conferences going on in the rooms at the same time. This is part of our goal to help our students be leaders and take ownership of their performance at school. Watch for conference details to come home early next week, and be sure to send back the information to let your child’s teacher know that you will attend. We would love to give every child the chance to tell a parent about how they are doing at school, so please come if you can! They will be preparing to show you things about their “life” and performance at school.

Congratulations to our entire archery team! They have continued to improve each day, and we are very proud of your dedication to archery. A special congratulations to 5th Grader Emily Howell, who has qualified to compete in the STATE archery tournament! Way to go!
